After earning his B.M. and M.M. degrees in Music Composition from California State University, Fullerton, Curtin built a foundation in both traditional and contemporary music. He later co-owned Music Merchants, a Newport Beach recording studio whose clients included Brian Wilson (The Beach Boys), Larry Gatlin (The Gatlin Brothers), and Russ Freeman (The Rippingtons). Always looking to expand his craft, he earned the BMI Jerry Goldsmith Film Scoring Scholarship while completing the UCLA Film Scoring Certificate Program, and went on to participate in both the SCL Mentor Program and a mentorship under film composer Christopher Young.
Known for his collaborative spirit and sensitivity to each project’s creative vision, Curtin strives to craft soundscapes that not only serve the story but elevate it. His work reflects a deep respect for the artistic process, combining technical mastery with emotional authenticity.
